Hi Reading Ninjas, how's your week been? I've been busy, busy... Lot's of 'real life' stuff, lots of writing, lots of reading and guess what? I stumbled across another little gem that's been buried in my kindle TBR for who knows how long.
KISS OF A DRAGON
by Alisa Woods
This is another new-to-me author and she's got an instant convert. Kiss of a Dragon is book #1 in her Fallen Immortals series and it's really great. It's your run of the mill, broody dragon prince/human girl story, but there's NOTHING wrong with that - it's a trope that works and if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. I love the characters so much, he's all dramatic and broody and cranky and sexually frustrated all the time (lol) and she's sassy and spunky and equally frustrated. These two are pretty combustible throughout the story and you're waiting with baited breath for them to finally create some dragon heat and get their act (and bodies) together.
I'm thrilled that this is only book #1, because I really love the story and can't wait to see what else there is to come. Plus, there are few side characters I'm now invested in having their own hot, sweaty, HEA too.
If you're into dragon shifters and sassy women, click click Reading Ninjas. See you in another 3 books when I know how the entire series pans out.
LUCIAN: I am a Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke… and I am dying. Five hundred years is truly enough for a man like me. A monster. Yet a ten-thousand-year treaty will die with me, if I don’t spawn a dragonling to take my place. My two brothers are no use in this task. It falls to me, the eldest by a hair’s breadth, and yet, I cannot face the horror of another sealing. Another death. Another woman’s blood on my hands.
ARABELLA: I was saved from death in a dark Seattle alley by an impossibly beautiful man swooping in on golden wings. Now he’s kidnapped me, taken me to his lair, and given me an absurdly simple task—find him a mate. Only then will he set me free. He’s rich, powerful, and the heat off his smoking-hot body is melting my panties. This guy is unlucky in love? Something’s not right. And I know one thing deep in my bones: all men lie. Even the dragon kind.
He needs her more than he wants; she wants him more than she should; and the fate of both the mortal and immortal worlds depends on not just repairing their hearts, but finding a Love that’s True…
