Hiya ninjas,
So I recently decided to make a concerted effort on my TBR kindle list - there are so many unknown books on it that are just waiting patiently for me to uncover their charms. Because I've had a kindle since their very first model, there were quite a lot of books, bought and forgotten way back on the TBR list; so I played with the settings, shelved everything I've already read and listed the TBR from oldest to newest - meaning I'm now reading things I bought so long ago I don't even remember.
Upside, this week I discovered a wonderful, hilarious and heartfelt gem that dates back to 2015 -
DEAL BREAKERS by Laura Lee
This is such a wonderful second chance romance that made my heart so happy and was very close to home for this reading ninja. It's the story of Devyn & Riley, college besties whose love spans many years and the many obstacles that life and they themselves throw in their own way. It's a sweet story, it's full of feels and smoking hot encounters and left me wishing that my own outcome as a single mum was Dev's.
But let me tell you, the stand out star of this story is Nathan. A 4-year-old with a way with words. He literally had me laughing aloud to myself on a regular basis as he dropped those pearlers that all little kids tend to do... except his gems are slightly saucy and often downright inappropriate thanks to an unfiltered uncle who has been expanding the vocabulary of this precocious little dude.
This story will make your heart smile with tears in its eyes, while you're laughing like an idiot. And let's be honest - that's the best kind of story. So find it, download it and spend a few hours refinding love and rekindling your belief in second chances. And don't forget a few $$ for the swear jar...
