Ever feel like you're being punked?
Hiya Ninjas, tell me... do you ever feel like you're being punked? Like maybe your whole life is one long, never-ending episode of candid camera. Ever just want to find the cameras and the bastard of a director and get the hell out?
We all know that feeling don't we? And Erin knows it in spades.
LOVE PUNKED by Nia Lucas
This is another of my happy accidental finds on my kindle as I clear the backlog of TBR's and this was a story I just couldn't put down from the first pages. Set somewhere in the UK, Erin is an almost normal teenager living an almost normal life... or as normal as you can when you have a tendency to get in your own way, have spent your preteen years yearning for the boy you kinda married one day when you were 7, and have a love/hate/love/obsession with a way overconfident jerk who's full of - well something.
Follow along as Erin manages to lose her virginity in her garage to a drug dealer and finds herself pregnant as a result. Live the moment as Erin's 'husband' speaks the words that cut her so deep that they haunt her for years and colour every relationship she attempts to have.
Join Erin and her wacky family (both blood and chosen) as they all learn to live life raising a duo of mini Beckhams, while completing high school and attempting function as the most disfunctional, exceptionally extended family you've ever met.
The biggest question you'll be asking yourself is will Erin ever get out of her own way? And will Gio's heart survive the turmoil?
I loved this story from the first pages to the last... if it were a tv show, I'd tune in nightly and write letters of protest when eventually after 10 seasons the network decides to bring it to an end. I'd love to keep reading and reading, following Erin and company throughout their lives and into what is sure to be a hilarious and unpredictable old age full of hijinx and mayhem.
When her life is irrevocably altered by a post-Rave tryst on her mother's floral patio recliner, Erin Roberts’ long-standing relationship with Humiliation takes her down a path that's not so much 'less well trodden', more 'perilous descent down sheer cliffs'.
Armed with a fierce devotion to her best friend and the unrequited love for the boy she might have accidentally married at age seven, when Erin falls pregnant at sixteen, life veers off at a most unexpected tangent.
Her journey to adulthood is far from ordinary as Erin learns that protecting the hearts of those most precious to you isn't balm enough when your Love Punked heart is as sore as your freshly tattooed arse.
Whilst raising football prodigies and trying not to get stuck in lifts with Social Work clients who hate her, Erin discovers that sometimes you have to circumnavigate the globe to find the very thing that was there all along.
