Who doesn't have a band they were (or are still) obsessed with? We're Reading Ninjas, but with that love of words (logophile - there you go you've learned a new word), I believe, comes an obsession with music and other artists. And as Sophie Stern says in her long-awaited (by me) new release
THE VAMPIRE'S MELODY
'Every vampire must sing it's song...'
The Vampire's Melody is a book I was waiting desperately to release and once it hit my kindle Xmas eve, it did not disappoint. After all, don't we all have a guilty little secret? Haven't we all been obsessed with a band or musician that everyone we know scoffs at and yet we refuse to deny our love? Ahem... New Kids On the Block anyone?
Anyway; Sophie Stern brings us Melody, a 30-something living a humdrum life that is going nowhere special - until the day she gets roped into exploring and photographing an abandoned orphanage for her besties' new website. Lost in her exploration and the music from her favourite band obsession - the long since gone by the wayside, Vampire's Shadow, she takes the door less travelled (literally) and stumbles across the band, still looking the same as in their heyday 30+ years previously, practising in the basement of the abandoned building.
Not only do their hot-as-hell magnetic good looks and music draw her in, but the broody foursome are vampires who are quick with their fangs and fully intend to keep her forever.
Melody disappears into an existence of pure, burning hot pleasure and adoration as she must make the ultimate decision - will she give up her life in the outside world in favour of a hidden forever with her lovers? And will she even get the chance as a mystery treat from a long-ago past threatens the coven?
This book is something special. While it's full of hot and hell poly-amorous sex scenes, it's not simply a story where you hop from filthy scene to filthy scene. The relationship that is building between Melody and her vampires is special and wonderful to read. I find myself rooting for the coven, laughing at Melody's sassy comebacks to their vamp broodiness and wanting to slap her when her feet turn cold and she makes a decision that everyone who reads the book, can see is sooooo wrong.
Click, click Reading Ninjas - you won't regret adding this book to the top of your TBR pile. Plus Sophie Stern has already advised me, there's more from this coven to come. EEP!!!
Every vampire must sing its song...
I'm just walking through an abandoned house, minding my own business, when - wham! - I'm no longer alone. Instead, I'm thrust into a world I know nothing about, a world I'm not ready for, and a world filled with real, live vampires. Well, I'm not sure that they're alive, but you know what I mean.
The people who live here in this house - the vamps - are older than me. They're more experienced than me. They're...broodier than me.
They also know that when this adventure is over, I'm going to have to make a very hard choice, and I'm just not sure that I'm ready.
Sweet Nightmares: The Vampire's Melody is a polyamorous, bisexual, open-door steamy book featuring vampires, biting, and lots and lots of fangs. This story includes puns, humour, joking around, pop culture references, and of course, lots of drinking blood.
