HAPPY NEW YEAR - welcome to 2020

Hiya Ginger Ninja's welcome to 2020 downunder. I saw in the new year in the best possible way. YEP I was up all night, staggering to bed at 5am - rager that I am... NOT! Actually I was inspired and managed to finish the draft of my latest Jakki Frances book.

After a quick 4hrs sleep it's into 2020 with gusto for me. Gym, laundry, groceries, etc. (can you tell I'm heading back to work tomorrow after 4 days off spent behind a keyboard?) And most importantly reflecting on all the wonderful words I read in 2019. Thanks to Goodreads I've tracked all published books I read for the year - 248. Add to that the 4 so far unpublished books I've beta read (trust me I can't wait for you to read them too.)

Ahh what can I say, it's been a great year in books for Ginger Reading Ninja. March saw me headed to Brisbane for Bookmarked & Sexy Book Con where I met so many wonderful authors, some of whom have become a great support system and mentors to Jakki Frances. Then there was A Romantic Rendezvous Melbourne put on by Australian Romance Readers Association, a great smaller event made easy for us locals. I have the great honour to be included in ARR 2020 - so stay tuned in March. Naturally October took me to USA for a month long adventure through the south, visiting iconic places and making book dork pilgrimages... culminating to my 4 fantastic days at Shameless Book Con in Orlando. Oh the book friends I made, the authors I networked with and the mountains of books I lugged back home. Trust me, if you ever get the chance I highly recommend attending if you can. It's an absolute blast and I'll be there to steer you right.

On top of all the reading and book induced travelling I also became a published author with four little gems hitting the public and readers out there had been very kind. I'm no JK Rowling but my book babies are being read and enjoyed.

So there you have it. My quickie wrap up of all the words, many I've loved, some I've enjoyed, rarely have I disliked. But with each new book I learn something new, I'm brought to a new world, I become a new person, so no matter good, bad or meh I'm forever thankful for every word written by authors.

Every book I've read has changed my life and will continue to do so until the end of time.
