Who doesn't dream of a smouldering, talented musician spending his evenings serenading you from the balcony by yours? Come on - admit it. I know I do - hell I spent Xmas week in Paris a few years ago in my own 'pied de terre' complete with a balcony looking down to the Eiffel Tower - but alas, not a hunky serenade in sight! Anyway...
Finding love is hard enough these days, but being non-verbal makes it downright impossible. Men always think you're deaf (totally not), or just plain simple (also so very wrong)... Just because she can't speak doesn't mean Robyn doesn't have a lot to say and even more to feel - especially about the hunk who stays in the apartment opposite hers every December. He appears on Dec 1 and is gone by New Year's Eve. He's mysterious and broody and oh so very talented. Tired of lusting from afar, this year, she's going to 'speak up' and get his attention...
And thus begins a beautiful love story full of fun, sweet moments and plenty of angst. Era and Robyn are tragically, wonderfully matched and theirs is a love you are rooting for from the first moment. Throw in Milo, Robyn's trusty confidant and a bunch of overly protective friends and family - can these two ever get past the past, not to mention the whole 'mysterious stranger' thing he's got going on?
You really won't regret grabbing a copy and if you're anything like me, you'll be googling the author almost immediately to see if she's got anything else for you to read.
